Building Sustainability was founded in 2007 as a result of a joint research project with the Royal Bank of Scotland. This project set out to create a “Building of the Future” where occupants had personal control of the zone they were inhabiting whilst also being aware of their personal carbon Footprint. This project led to new patents for zone controls and was the birth of the Workplace Footprint Tracker service.

The service was further developed in partnership with London South Bank University as part of a Technology Strategy Board funded knowledged transfer partnership. The Tracker was installed into the Centre for Efficient and Renewable Energy in Buildings along with the Aidon Radio Meshed Smart Meters.

Building Sustainability has a dedicated Research and Development team responsible for ongoing product development in response to customer needs.
